LOVEJOY

Lovejoy is an artist of many talents.  Though young of age, she has wisdom in her soul that shines through in her bright colorful creations. The only daughter in a family of five, Lovejoy grew up all over the southeastern United States; In high school Lovejoy took classes from painting, photography, and metal/wood working; trying as many things as possible.  She continued her art exploration at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.  There Lovejoy earned a bachelors in Computer Art, with a minor in drawing and painting.

Lovejoy left Savannah in 2003 with the intention of going to California to work with films.  But things do not always go as planned, Lovejoy ended up in Sedona, Arizona with a broken down car.  It was there while visiting her mother that she decided to stay……where she has become a very successful and recognized local artist.

Lovejoy is actually her last name, her "family" name.  But it is one that suites her essence perfectly.  Once settled in Sedona, Lovejoy's style exploded, as she produced over seventy painting in eight months, ranging in size from 9x12 inches to 8x10 feet. Lovejoy's style at that time was painting entirely with a palette knife and directly from the tube, with bold high saturated primary colors.  As the years past her style has become more controlled through brush stroke and rendering, but the bold colors are ever present.  Lovejoy is not afraid to try new mediums or try new techniques…..many happy accidents have occurred to help the continued evolution of Lovejoy's style.

Travel, especially international travel is a passion that has helped Lovejoy's art evolve. Her most recent trip to Thailand proved to be both artistically and spiritually inspiring for her.

Lovejoy is in full gratitude to be thriving and growing as an artist. "To be in the middle of living your dream, only to realize that your dream expands at the rate you choose to create with today."
